Does anyone know how to become a music writer for films?

I have been writing and producing music for the last 20 years and like the idea of getting into writing music scores for films but have no idea where to start can anyone help or give any suggestions on how i can get into this area I cant goto university as financially impossible so is there any other route... thanks for listening
