My choir has a concert on 9 December. What is the optimum time to post flyers to

Question:

My choir has a concert on 9 December. What is the optimum time to post flyers to get people to come?

Specifically, I am targeting houses/flats near the venue (as I happen to live next door to it). I don't want to post the flyers so early that people discard them, but not so late that people are booked up. What are your recommendations/experiences? Just so you know, the concert is classical choral works with carols for the audience as the end - quite nice really!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: 3 Weeks people will be look and say... oh nice, maybe.
2 Weeks people tend to say, oh, that's coming up quick, I'll put it on the schedule.
1 Week people will probably be booked.

If you're hanging them up I'd put them up three weeks before to get their attention by repition.

If you're handing them out I'd say 2 - 2 1/2 weeks so they'll know their schedule and be looking for stuff to book.
