Question:

Opera Trios?

Does anyone know of any good trios from an opera for two sopranos and a baritone or a soprano, mezzo, and baritone?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Perfect choice: "Soave sia il vento" from Cosi fan Tutte by Mozart. Just beautiful.

There is an AMAZING trio in the "Antonia" act of Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann. Very advanced, but the dramatic scene is intense.

There are also some nice scenes in The Old Maid and the Thief by Menotti that might work well, but they aren't trios per se.
