Question:

If a note is flat in one measure, is it assumed to be natural or flat in the next if nothing's indicated?

If piano sheet music, if a note is flat in one measure, then played again in the next, with no natural or flat sign next to it, is it assumed to be flat or natural?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If the flat in the previous measure was outside of the key signature it's referred to as an accidental. And the rule for accidentals states that they are only good for that measure. So the note in the next measure would be natural.
