Question:

What are some jazz song's that i can listen to to learn some scat techniques and vowels.?

my knowledge of jazz is very small because this is my 2nd singing in my high school jazz ensemble, and i mostly sing classical pop and rock, but i find jazz very rich in its own rights and i would like to better my scatting skills because they are rather weak sauce. I know about upper and lower neighbors and stuff... but i think listening to some professional scats would help me alot. i jazz media knowledge is very low and if you all could help me out i would be very thankful. thanks!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's not the songs so much, it's the people. Listen to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong for starters. Also Sarah Vaughan and John Coltrane. The link below mentions some specific songs and other artists. You can learn about others by doing an internet search for "Scat singing"; but Wikipedia gives a good intro.
