Position:Home>Performing Arts> Bach Stradivarius Trumpets?Question: Bach Stradivarius Trumpets? What is the difference between a 37, 49, or 72 Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm sorry, but the first answer is incorrect. The numbers 37, 49, and 72 refer to the taper of the bell, not the bore size. The taper is how fast the bell flares at the end of the horn. Bore size has to do with the trumpet's lead pipe and is indicated by a letter combination (M, ML, L, XL, etc.) Here is a quick chart that tells you what the different bell tapers will equate to in terms of sound. # 37: rich, compact sound with great projection # 43: broader, brighter open tone # 72: darker strong, powerful sound Good luck. My Bb trumpet is a Stradivarius 37 and it's an excellent horn! |
