Question:

Jazz piano songbook....?

Does anyone know of a good jazz piano songbook for an intermediate-advanced player... It's going to be a gift for my boss.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you are looking for a good Fake Book (chord changes and melody), then The Real Book for C instruments is arguable the best one out there. It used to be passed around between musicians until a couple years ago, when it was published for the masses. Tons of great jazz standards and it is made for other instruments too (works great for combos). I know I've used mine to death for years now.

Several places sell it now, but Hal Leonard is always a good one to get it from.

ISBN: 0634060384

As for books that pertain to just one composer, find out who is favorite one is and do a search (we are now in the age where mostly every composer has a book of their music out).

Good luck!
