Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I've just finished three out of four semesters of Music Theory needed to be a music major at my school. Some of it I get, and some of it seems useful, but on the whole it has caused me more pain and frustration than all my other college courses in the past three semesters. Hours and hours of work to analyze one Beethoven exerpt and then you get it back and it was all wrong and you have no idea why!!! Music theory generally makes me want to gauge my eyes out. I have broken down in tears in two finals and two regular tests. It's all very sad because our professor is brilliant and such a nice guy, but still, no, I do not like studying music theory.
