Question:

How can make my voice "more beautiful," especially to sing Gregorian Chant?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Gregorian chant requires a "straight-tone." Yes, a voice teacher can help you with this...but if you don't want to pay for one....
A beautiful chant-like tone can be achieved by learning to control the vibrato, which can be achieved through better breath control. Doing breathing exercises will help your support, which in turn will help you have more control over how you produce the tone. Chant was sung without meter, and was conducted with a circular motion....so when you sing....think in a circular meter of 1.. so it flows. Chant is normally sung in Latin. The end of the phrase does not go down; it stays up. The emphasis is on the downbeat. Hope these little tips help!
