How to sing really really high?

Question:

How to sing really really high?

i dont mean like a few notes above how high i can sing right now
i mean like
the singer from the darkenss or saosin
or like axl rose or robert plant

how do they sing so damn high
do they just use falseto that sounds a lot like their normal voice
some songs are pretty much a full octave above what i can sing
