Position:Home>Performing Arts> What would be a good song to sing at a solo night?

Question:

What would be a good song to sing at a solo night?

I'm an alto, but I can sing soprano and can also dip down into the tenor range. And the solo night thing is on January 25th.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: "This is the Moment" is a typically male solo from Jekyll and Hyde.

From musical theater, I suggest:
"The Life of the Party" from Lippa's The Wild Party (if you can belt it out)
"Adelaide's Lament" from Guys and Dolls
"I Don't Know Where She Got It" from Hallelujah, Baby!
"You Can Always Count on Me" from City of Angels
"Le Jazz Hot" from Victor/Victoria
"I Don't Want to Show Off" from The Drowsy Chaperone
"A Trip to the Library" from She Loves Me
"Shy" from Once Upon a Mattress
"I Can Cook, Too" from On the Town
"Somewhere That's Green" from Little Shop of Horrors
"Nobody's Side" from Chess
"Oh, Diogenes" from The Boys from Syracuse
"I Just Wanna Be a Star" from Nunsense
"I'm Not Afraid of Anything" or "Stars and the Moon" from Songs for a New World
"Summer in Ohio" from The Last Five Years
"Diva's Lament" from Spamalot
"I Speak Six Lanuages" from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
"Don't Tell Mama" from Cabaret
"Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie

Also try:
"I Double Dare You" by Terry Shand and Jim Eaton
"Love Me or Leave Me" by Donaldson and Kahn
"For Free" by Joni Mitchell
"You Answer Me" or "The Lament (In Two)" by Jennifer Knapp
"You've Changed" by Carey and Fisher
"Comes Love (Nothing Can Be Done) by Brown and Tobias
"Is That All There Is" by Stoller and Lieber
"Scar" or "Unbroken" by Missy Higgins
