Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: wow, that's a loaded question if I ever saw one. Alright, I'll give you five good reasons.
1. Music has been proven to help thinking and reasoning
2. Art helps develop spatial skills
3. People listen to music all the time, and there are comparatively few who can play that music to the level of musicianship that most people enjoy
4. Music makes the movie, not the other way around. Take almost any scary scene, take out the music, and it's no longer scary, I can pretty much guarantee that.
5. It's very difficult to do, not just because of the level of skill required to play an instrument, sing, act, draw, sculpt, etc, but because if you are a performer, there are few people who have your guts to be on that stage and put yourself out there for people to see, and possibly judge.
