Some pyro guys have steady work, like at theme parks - but then they are under the same umbrella as the other stagehands.

Also, I believe that there are ranges of pyro licenses, in-door vs out-door for example, so price may be an indicator there.

My best guess is in the Los Angeles area, an active free-lance pyro guy makes close to 70 grand a year.
