Question:

What are some good tips for someone trying to become a good cello player?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i've played the cello since i was in fifth grade...i'm not a "pro," but here are some ideas:
* listen to jacqueline du pre and yo yo ma's recordings any chance you get--they're both amazing cellists!
* practice your left-hand bow grip wherever you are: use a pen or pencil (no lie)
* practice the bach etudes over and over!---i hated them, but they actually made me a better cellist
* think of the "flow" of the music...if you play each note individually, your sound won't be as soothing as a cello should be...
* breathe. :) remember to breathe while you play.
* have fun and good luck!!!
