Flute - use of B key Gizmo key?

There is an option of the low-B gizmo key. It actually helps to produce the low-B note and to facilate higher register notes. Besides what i have mentioned, what are the advantages of it?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well, I think you pretty much nailed the advantages. Depending on your age, you may or may not need this key. (You know the word is 'facilitate', right?) If you want to intimidate your fellow band members, go for it. But in my experience, I've never seen a low B in any piece of flute music.
