Question:

When you sing in the whistle register....?

do you have to exhale like youre actually singing? i inhale and sing and the notes come out really high, it doesnt irritate my throat, but i wanted to know if that counts as actually singing. i have a pretty good control over it, but i dont know if inhaling and singing is the right way to sing in the whistle register. please give some tips.

btw i asked this question before, but only one person answered it and i need some feed back. k thanks :]]

Yes the whistle register is like normal singing. It is like falsetto for women. Although men can also have a whistle register, for them it is above falsetto.

When you sing whistle notes the air flow through your vocal chords is very minimal. A good way to practice is humming. there should still be vibrato just like normal singing. You have to have good breath control for this.

If you can't sing "proper" in your normal register then don't try whistle register. You could cause a lot of damage. Learn all the dynamics of singing before you attempt advance things like whistle register.
