(This includes the fingerboard) Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Ebony is a rose wood too. But ebony tends to shrink and crack a bit more than other rosewoods. It is a bit harder and more dense. I personally love the look of ebony, however on an instrument would choose rosewood over ebony for stability. Ebony would contribute to a little sharper sound and give a bit more sustain. |
