Question:

Does anyone have any tips for filming a "Ghost Video?"?

I'm shooting one for my college project, I've done a lot of research and scripted it, but I want it to be excellent, any help would be much appreciated.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you can vary the shutter speed on your camera you'll get some interesting effects. Slowing the shutter produces smearing of movement if the subject moves or smearing of still subjects if the camera moves.

Try locking off the camera so you can have subjects appear and disappear from frame by editing. You can also use the dissolve function if you have one, to make things appear and disappear, again by editing similarly framed shots together.

Try lighting faces from below, close to the body to get 'ghostly' effects. Reverse polarity is another technique if you've got it. This makes the subject appear like a photo negative. Your edit programme should have it. Shoot a lot of tests until you find what you like.
