Question:

A famous choral/orchestral piece?

Ok guys, I know this is a long shot but I'm looking for this really famous orchestral piece that has a choir singing along. It sounds kinda dark yet majestic at the same time. It's always used in movies and commercials (but I can't think of one right now!). Lots of tympani and cymbal hits. I remember reading somewhere that it's considered "satanic" by some people. Any ideas? Would really appreciate all the help.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Sounds like the first movement (O Fortuna) from Orf's "Carmina Burana". However, I've never heard of any satanic connections.

I highly recommend you get the CD and read the lyrics as you listen. It is one of the greatest choral works of all time yet it is a contemporary work.

The only commercial i can think of is for Marine recruiting.

Here is a link to BMGs site to a recording. Listen to the first track.

Try and come up with some better data. A link to the music would help too.
