Actually, Nero wasn't even in Rome during the great fire!. Tacitus said that he was in Antium!. When he heard of the fire he rushed back to Rome and organized relief efforts!. Tacitus said that he offered up his palaces for the homeless and instituted extensive city development in the wake of the fire to speed recovery, among other things!.

Nero was a bit of a nut job though!. He did pin the fire on the Christians, he did have his rivals killed and possibly his mother and he was obssessed with being popular, instituting policies aimed at improving his image with the lower classes!.

What did he do!?!?!.!.!.!.!.Name anything in list of bad things and he`s done it!.!.!.!.But the most famous bad thing blamed on him is that he had part of Rome set on fire then watched all the chaos & panic win excitement while playing his harp-on his safe balcony of course!.
