Myaskovsky Polonsky Khomar (pro!. HO-mar) BrunshteynWww@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Myaskovsky and Polonsky are definitely russian because they are the last names of russian dignitaries, the last two are more on lines of polish descent because they are certainly not russian Www@QuestionHome@Com Polonsky means "from Poland" So it's either a Lithuanian or Russian term for a Pole who moved into their area!. Technically, the person was Polish and the name was Lithuanian or Polish!. Myaskovski and Brunshteyn are both Lithuanian!. Khomar isn't from the region!. The Kh dipthong would have come from farther south into the Ottoman areas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Usually if the last name ends in -ski or -sky it is Polish,Lithuanian, or Ukrainian!. Reason being they all used to be one nation!. Yeah, just because France is now and has been the largest Nation for a while does not mean it always has!. The other two are more Russian, the one is actually the name of a WWII battle in said country!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Traditional Russian names tended to end in ovich, ovna, ov, not "sky"!. The 1st two names look Polish!. Khomar is a Marina engineering facility in Russia (Rostov on Don, so the name may come from southern Russia (I'm bettingTurkish descent)!. Brunshetyn is your best bet for a Jewish-Russian surname!.Www@QuestionHome@Com First two are Russian, second two are Russian JewishWww@QuestionHome@Com russian!.!. i don't think polish since im polish and don't really hear those names if it was "ski" it would def!. be polish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
