Help me find my grandpa!?

I have no idea where to start! All i know about him is that he has military service, had a child in vietnam (hanoi) on august 4th, 1967 and also a son shortly after, My grandmother lost her memory, and cant tell much about him, cept he was tall handsome, and a very nice man. I looked on geneology.com but it doesnt help i dont know his last name, i know his daughter and wifes name was doan, but he might of changed his name or whatever.
