Question:

Need to see if Great grandpa and family are on NY. 1892 CENSUS?

Looking to see if ANYONE can find my great grandpa and his family on the 1892 N. YORK state census: Channe or Anna, children Michael or Mier, John or Itzig, Nellie and Lieb or Louis Siegel, Segall, Segal, and so on. The father was either Hirsch, Harry, Hersche or Harrus....we THINK they were living in N. York til 1893-4. ANY help would be so greatly appreciated.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'd be glad to help you find him, but you've never answered the one really important question that I asked a few weeks ago...other than Douglas Co WI, where did they live?

I still think the Jacob, married to Anna for 22 years and with all the same kids, is the ancestor you're looking for. Harry lived in Milwaukee with a different spouse and was married to her over 50 years per the census. But if they left that county during the era of the census loss, I need to know where they went if we're going to find them on voter registration, land and immigration records. Let me know. But I don't think looking for "Harry" is going to help because I think he went for an easier americanization of his name.
