Relative entered by ship in September 1950 by boat (arriving in New York) - got an image of the manifest through Ancestry.com. The relative is definitely dead (aged 44 in 1950) and there are no other relatives who know anything else. There the trail goes cold - what other resources (official records) are there to find out more about what happened to this guy?

Ancestry.com checked many databases, the only thing showing a match is an immigration record. Is there any way to find out where he worked, find out who his colleagues and neighbors were, and get information that way?
