I was adopted at 4 yrs old and I want to know how you get a court order to obtain you adoption records..

That depends on the location. What state are you in, or province or country. Remember this is an international forum.

When I find this information for others, I simply search using YAHOO SEARCH, for "ADOPTION LAW <location>", and you substitute in your location. You can also look for "VITAL RECORD <location>". Yahoo seems to do a better job of actually producing the record offices. Then you look through the web sites that come up, and you will find the process to get a court order, if there is one. Some locations have open adoption records so a court order is not needed. In the meantime you might want to have the following sites which are about registering to find either children, or parents.
