I checked the immigration records on the new York Passenger Lists 1820-1957 and got 88 hits of Breitbach immigrating to the U.S. They all listed their birthplaces as either Germany, Prussia, or Austria. According to the U.S. Public Records Index showing current households there is over 2100 households currently in the United states. There is a high concentration of Breitbachs in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but more so in Minnesota.

There is a message board on Rootsweb that has a few postings about Breitbach. You might want to check them out or do your own postings with information you want to expand on from your own particular branch.
