SOME names MIGHT be usually connnected to one country, but that does not insure that a person with the name automatically comes from there. Many names become different from the original. Example is how Dauphinais became Dolphay, when the immigrant came from Canada to the US. No search engine will pick it up because it didn't exist prior to 1860 or so. You need to trace the person, and use factual records, to determine who he was, where he/she actually was born, and sometimes, what the original of the name was. |
