Gruits and Dikin surnames = Hugarian, Romanian, Austrian...??

Question:

Gruits and Dikin surnames = Hugarian, Romanian, Austrian...??

My paternal grandfather's last name was Gruits. My paternal grandmother's maiden name was Dikin. Apparently, both surnames were modified slightly when my ancestors came to the U.S.

I know for sure that my "dad's side" is primarily from southeastern Europe. Where do those surnames come from specifically? I know they've drawn and redrawn the borders over there since forever, so this may be a hard question to answer.

Any help would be appreciated! :)
