Question:

What are the specifics of his death?

Nussen Lev: Holocaust victim.

He was a son of Itzruck (Isaac) Lev and Miriam (Deborah?). I don't know her maiden name. They were from Siedlce, Poland.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Have you searched the Yad Vashem Holocaust Victims' Database, yet? If not, go to: http://www.yadvashem.org/wps/portal/iy_h...

Also, I noticed that on this database the spellings LEV and LEW seem almost interchangable.

(You may have to subscribe to JewishGen to use the portions of its site cited below, but it is free. Also, it is the largest Jewish genealogy website online.) - see below

JewishGen's Holocaust Database is at: http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/holoc...
"JewishGen's Holocaust Database is a collection of databases containing information about Holocaust victims and survivors. It incorporates over 100 datasets, listed below, which contain over 1.1 million entries."

There are alternate names for Siedlce [Polish], Shedlitz [Yiddish], Sedlets [Russian], Shedlets, Sedl'tse

I mention the alternate town names because there are 4 yizkor/memorial books for Siedlce and sometimes you can find the type of information you are searching for in these books.

One of them is online in its original form via the NY Public Library website under the town name of "Shedlets". Its complete transliterated title is - Oyf di khurves fun mayn heym (khurbn Shedlets) (Tel Aviv, 1952)

Go to: http://yizkor.nypl.org/index.php?id=2588... you will need to change the letter at the top in the community area to an "S" and when you see the list, click on Shedlets(1952). Most likely the book is written in both Hebrew and Yiddish (I didn't check, but I can't translate either). If there is an index, you may see your family mentioned in it.

Good luck on your search...
