Has anyone heard of a place called Madaria?

I am doing some genealogy and have come across a birthplace called Madaria. I have looked at the spelling over and over. I am looking at census records from 1900 US.

The town of Madaria is located in the skirts of the Ungino mount, to the north of Sierra Salbada. It limits with Salmant㳮 and Menoio the north; with Maro㱯 and Agu㭃𑩧a by the east; and with Salmant㳮 by the west.

Their little small villages are located to a side and another one of the way coming from Maro㱯, in upgrade according to we advanced towards the west. Throughout history, the place of Madaria has been known like Obaldia. In year 864, Count Diego Porcellos donated to San Mill㡮 several monasteries (medieval churches) and heredades in Ayala and the valley of Mena. In this document, among other ayaleses towns, he appeared Obaldia. Later, in 1095, he appears mentioned in the Agreement that ayaleses inhabitants sign with the Bishop of Calahorra, Don Pedro de Nazar.

In 1114, Don Diego Lopez de Lejarzo donates to the monastery of San Mill㡮 the church or monastery of Santa Cecilia and San Clemente de Obaldia, along with its heredades. Between that they sign like witnesses, is Don Sancho Garci'a de Obaldia. Also we have the later news little in which king Alfonso VII de Castilla donates the ??villa of Gavinea?? In 1830, still it appeared like ??Parochial Church Monasterial of San Clemente de Obaldia, Nullius Dioeceis??. Years later, after the enclaustraci㳮, it was gotten up to the diocesano regime, and was served by you cure of Maro㱯 and Salmant㳮.

In the political scope, Madaria was integrated in the Group of the Sope㱡, one of the five groups who integrated the Earth of Aiara and which the field and table of Zaraobe met in. In 1841, when being created the City councils, Madaria it will be built-in to the City council of Ayala/Aiara.

??ava (Basque: Araba) is a province of northern Spain in the southern part of the autonomous community of the Basque Country. The province has a poulation of 301,926 (2006 official estimate) and an area of 2.963 kmⲠ.

It is bordered by the provinces of Burgos, La Rioja, Navarra, Guip㺺coa, and Biscay. Within ??ava is Condado de Trevi㱯, an enclave which is part of Burgos province, Castile and Le㳮, although there is some support for Trevi㱯 joining the Basque Community.

The capital of ??ava is Vitoria-Gasteiz (Vitoria is the Spanish name, Gasteiz the Basque name), which also serves as the capital of the autonomous community. The province is divided into seven counties (cuadrillas): A㱡na; Ayala; Campezo; Laguardia; Salvatierra; Vitoria; Zuya.
