Question:

Shouldn't people qualify their answers when they recomment genealogical websites?

The family trees are being submitted by amateurs like most of us. The information should be considered as clues, not absolute fact. Even if we see the same information over and over by different people, there is a lot of copying going on.

I see people advising them of Ancestry.Com, Rootsweb, FamilySearch.org etc, but when the are advised, the people they are advising should be cautioned.

I use the websites myself and have found them valuable, but I have seen errors. Ancestry.Com has taken liberties with their One World Tree. They have taken information that was submited to Ancestry World Tree and combined them. They will show all the different information people have submitted on a person, but I have found more than once they have combined two people into one.
