Wondering if an old bank account I found still has any money or if it's been closed - any help?

I found a few statements (dated from 1986) from a savings account I had before I was married. The accounts are in my maiden name. I'm wondering how to find out if I ever closed out the account or if there might still be some money in it. Can anyone help me with where to start?
