Any information on these names?

I am looking for information or background on the names Gedeet/Gedert. I haven't been able to find much of anything. I would love to know their meaning.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Gedert looks like it might be a version of Geddert, which is probably a variant of Goddert, a patronymic byname (indicating the name of the bearer's father) from the Germanic name Gotthard.

Could Gedeet be a misreading or mis-transcription of Gedert? Until the early 20th century, German was printed using various blackletter fonts (and handwritten in correspondingly hard for us to read styles); in many of these, the 'e' and 'r' look remarkably similar.
