Question:

I want to start my family tree...?

Is there a website that finds geneology for filipinos because I have searched for one in the internet, but i only found family histories in the U.S

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you're just starting, your own family is a better source than the web. Family stories and records, if they're available to you, make a good foundation for expanded research.

As Sleepyfrog said, FamilySearch is a good place. It's a free genealogy site run by the Mormon church and has a guide to researching Philippine ancestry: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/r...

Elphaba's suggestion about genealogy.com is good, too. I'm not real familiar with that site, but I easily found a list of relevant links there.

The US Census board, oddly enough, has some information on civil registration in the Philippines that might be useful.

And WorldGenWeb has a free site dedicated to the subject.

Another source might be Cyndis List, another free site with links to thousands of genealogy sources.

If you want to spend a few hundred dollars, Ancestry.com can be a good source, but I'd advise against signing up there until you've exhausted the free resources.
