Question:

Is "Fields" or "Field" a Jewish surname?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Sometimes, as others have said. Be careful about claiming to be one of God's chosen people unless you have a lot of doctors and lawyers in your ancestry, though. As you may know, Jewish scientists have won Nobel prizes about five times as frequently, per capita, as any ethnic group. When people are dying, all their prejudices tend to vanish if a really good doctor is at hand. When the Tzar's cossacks swept through on another pogrom, education was easy to carry as you fled. For those and many other reasons, the Jewish people have always prized learning, and the entire world has benefited.
