Like the 1940 one. Also what If I want to look at the 1990 one?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's a federal law that the census is private for 72 years (not 70). But that may be changing before the 1940 records are released. Because of the rampant identity theft, it's being proposed that the current federal law be extended to 100 years. That would match Canada, Britain, France and others.

The present anticipated date of release is 2012...but don't count on it...
