Question:

How far back can you trace your ancestors?

Or is this of no importance to you?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: On one line to a 7th ggmother born late 1600s in England.

Definitely important, spent a lot of time over the last 3 years or so working on my family history. I have several thousand relatives recorded ranging to 7th cousins, and have made contact with at least fifty of them. Fascinating stuff. Some of my progress is somewhat marred by the lines leading to Latvia and Norway. As these are only 1 and 3 generations back respectively, those lines are fairly poorly represented.

All in all it's really interesting - I even found a "notorious" 1930s Sydney "racing personality" recently. About a 5th cousin I think, but still one of mine!
