I am trying to find information pertaining to my family in Ireland in the 1800s any ideas?

my great-great grandfather came from Dublin but i cannot seem to find anything on him even though he was a wealthy farmer. i have e-mailed irish web sites but i never get a reply. any ideas on who i should contact or where to begin looking for my history?

Most of the parish records are available in microfilm for the 1800's at The Salt Lake Family History Library in Salt Lake City. The folks in England come to Salt Lake to find their records because the parishes charge for the privilege now.

See if you can find Mrs. Schultz on Wednesday afternoons. She will teach you a lot.
