Question:

How do I find my sister that was put up for adoption in 1949 or 1950?

I am looking for my sister (we think it was a girl) that was put up for adoption from the Gettins Clinic in Odessa, Texas the end of 1949 or the beginning of 1950! She might not even know that she was adopted. Know anything about black market adoptions?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I would begin by contacting the Adoption agency where she/he was adopted.
If you have his/her DOB, Case #, Parents full names and DOB's it might help.

There are also places where you can sign up on the WWW and they will do the searching for you.

I was adopted over 60 yrs ago and am still looking for my birth mother.
Note: If this was a closed adoption then you will have to go thru a "Probate Court" to have the file opened, and that takes time and money.
I wish you much luck.
PS - I found no listing on the web for the Gettins Clinic in Odessa, TX. It could still be there but under a different name.
