I'm trying to find my sister iv never met?

im looking for my sister iv never met, i know so little has my mum died and it was never mentioned, i only know her name was Ann or Anne Hyde she was adopted straight away when she was born in 1960 and i think it was over in the north east, at the time my mum lived in Workington in Cumbria, im afraid thats it, i know people are going to say try the salvation army, but they will probably need more inf than that, so i thought id try here first. any one any ideas.....

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think you should contact Social Services at Cumbria County Council. If they did not handle to adoption, they will be able to give you the names and addresses of any privtae adoption agencies in the county. Every adopted child has the right to find out who their birth parents were and your sister may have been trying to contact your late mother and this will be noted on her adoption records.
