Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: So, you may stop guessing or wondering.
Brothers and sisters have the same parents.
First cousins have the same grandparents
Second cousins have the same great grandparents
Third cousins have the same great great grandparents.

Great great grandparents, of course, are the GRANDPARENTS of YOUR grandparents. Therefore... you both need to be able to search the official records (or church, temple) to learn the exact names of your ancestors, and prove if there is not a relationship.
This is the "official" answer. The other answer is the family thinking. The traditions and such of different countries is not the same as here in the United States. For an example, the actor Richard Gere intended no wrong and here, his kissing is a playful act of no harm. To other persons, he did a very insulting thing against their culture.
You must be the one who knows how your family traditions are, if your family will be angry at you. Here, young people will make such choices and do not worry if the family is angry. In your family, it can be different.
So, my far away friend, I send you the way to be certain of the relationship. I also send you my wishes for finding the way to solve this without anger or hurt in both your families, and respect for different ways of belief.
