I need help in finding a Canadian ancestor named SUSAN A. SPEAR bAPR 1840 Canada & d28 NOV 1926 wichita kansas

this much i know, & can prove; my gr grandfather is george e booth b. 17 mar 1895 in ks. his mother is lois e. b. 10 jun 1878 in kansas. i know she married seth goodwin sutterlin b 1 nov 1866 ohio in 1899/1900 in ok. i also know that my grgrandfather george is not seth sutterlins son. he was abt 5 when lois & seth married in ok.i found seth, lois, and george in 1900 living in newkirk, kay county, ok census. which also lists a susan a spear b. apr 1840 canada, as mother. then in 1910 in wichita kansas the 4 of them are living together, but susan is listed as granddaughter. in 1920 susan is living with george(my grgrandpa) & his 2 daughters, this time she is listed as a housekeeper employed by family. this is the last census susan a spear is listed in, she died nov 28 1926 in wichita kansas. so my question is: who is susan a spear related to & how? am i missing a generation? perhaps lois' parents? please help! i have a subscrition to ancestry.com, just need some serious help please!!!!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: That's a good one. 1900 Susan does have a separate household listing. "Head" was written over with "mother". Susan birthed one child, zero living. Susan's Canada born of Scot parents.

I do not think they're "blood" related. I don't see how she could be saloon keeper Seth Sutherlin's mother. Foster mother?

Ohhhhhh use the magnifying glass with ancestry's viewer: 1910 that says grandmother! Now I still don't see how that would related to Seth's German-born parents -- but look: Lois says her mother was born Canada! I think you can work this out.

I sorted 1880 for a lois born 1878 +-2 KS, mother born Canada, only got one. Don't take it as gospel but who knows. (Susan's not there)
