Is there any way to find out what ship aseaman sailed on the 1873-1900 he sailed on Marion Moore&Cutty Sark?

he also sailed on whalers he was put on the Marion Moore aged 14 after being on Mars training ship on river tay from age of 10 in1869

The National Archives hold registers of seamen as well as certificates of competence, etc;
Lloyds Marine Collection at the Guildhall Library in London;
The Information Centre, Lloyds Register has open access and holds many records.
