About the Campbell Clan, how do I trace which branch I am in if I dont know great grandma's last name?

I've been searching out my Clan for so many years, and i have still run into this same stumbeling block. Any advice?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: well that is somewhat complex as I also carry the Clan Campbell blood but my forbearers were the Argyll Branch of Clan Campbell. I do know that there is a DNA project set up
but without your grandmothers last name its going to be next to impossible to determine clan or sept connections,sorry
