Question:

"Cherokee Indian"?

How can I find out if I have Cherokee Indian in my family?People keep telling me that I look like I have Cherokee in me. I'm not sure how they can tell, but I would like to know. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: First you have to do the genealogy. Trace your ancestors back. Next look at where they came from. If you are like most you may not be able to prove anything unless you find your ancestors listed on one of the government rolls. In the case of the Cherokee the Guion Miller Rolls, the Siler Rolls, Henderson Rolls. If you need help and want to talk to others in the same boat as you are check out this group.
