Question:

How are trait passed down?

how many trait do you get from each parent?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: To make it simple, there are two different kinds of traits--dominant and recessive. Dominant traits are more likely to show up. Recessive traits are less likely to show up. For example, let's say that a big nose is a dominant trait. If one of your parents has a big nose, then there's a high chance that you have a big nose as well. If a big nose was a recessive trait, both of your parents would have to have big noses for this trait to pass to you, their offspring. Basically, dominant traits are much more likely to show up than recessive traits. This is a simplified explanation; the full answer would require charts. Oh, and each parent can carry hundreds and hundreds of dominant/recessive traits.
