Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Nothing is sacred in Nigeria...but it all comes with a price. I have friends who came here from there in the early 80s and refuse to have any contact with folks back there because once you are introduced to them or they get the slightest bit of information about you, they will hound you and harass you for years. My friend Franca went as far as changing her name in the US so that her "family's friends" couldn't continue hurting her.

I only say this as a warning before you start your quest. It's a very dangerous country...much like Nicaragua was in the mid-70s. Tred very carefully.

Unless you can find someone in the US with information on your foster child, I would not encourage you to continue your search in great haste. It's a scary place...a very scary place...and you have no control over who intercepts your messages and what they do to try to manipulate or scam you.
