or any family history sites/public records in Michigan

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Sometimes schools didn't have names at first, maybe Surname Schoolhouse. An ancestor started the first school at Pavilion, Kalamazoo, MI 1848. For all I know, they had so many kids school was at home.

MI has great public records and genealogy volunteers! Go to the rootsweb state/county message boards and start looking around. usgenweb probably has good pages too.
