How can I find an obit. or record of my father who died in the early '90's. We had no relationship by the way.

I know my fathers first name and last. Him and I were never in contact. I was 17 when he passed. I think I know what city he died in and also the year. My mom won' t tell me any info but I would like to research my father and possibly contact his other children. I am in B.C. Canada and his children possibly reside in Alberta currently.
