Dont know real great grandad.?

My Grandad Otto Gein (03.05.1925-08.10.1991)from my moms side acquired name GEIN after his stepdad Otto Gein (c1900-c1968). Never new his real father.
Due to the Communist overpower, people being sent ti Siberia, and him having a german stepdad he had to change his name while getting a passport to Oleg Vladimirovic Sidorin after a dead uncle (mothers brother Oleg Sidorin who died during war; mother- Antonina Sidorina (1905-1973) ) "a" in the end of the surname is an indicator thats its a female.
